Mentoring and Coaching

After reading many articles about mentoring and coaching, I feel the education system is very different between China and the U.S. I feel so happy to have a peek at the education system through the degree program to get in touch with the advanced education ideology. Response to Intervention

The two articles by Fletcher and Vaughn (2009) and Searle (2010) both focus on Response to Intervention (RTI), a method schools use to help students who are struggling academically. RTI is designed to catch learning problems early and provide support before these issues get worse. Both articles explain how RTI uses a step-by-step process where students are given different levels of help based on their needs. They also talk about how important it is to use data and assessments to track students' progress and make decisions about what kind of help they need. While the articles cover the same topic, they approach it a bit differently. Fletcher and Vaughn (2009) focus more on the research behind RTI, explaining how it can prevent or reduce learning problems, particularly for students with learning disabilities.
